Flight of Mo - Xel-Ha Riviera

in Cancun offer you the chance to participate in some
of the best activities along the Riviera Maya. In the
depths of the Mayan jungle Xel-Ha offers an amazing
experience for the adrenaline loving adventurer. Set
in the Aventura Cenote surrounded by the most beautiful
vegetation and glorious tropical sun we offer you the
Flight of MO, the Macaw guardian of the skies which
according to Mayan legends had the duty of taking care
of the trees.
Feel the adrenaline of flight by jumping into the river
from a rope and feel refreshed as you plunge into our
beautiful cenotes.
Then relax in the cool and crystalline waters as you
decide to shake off the fear and dry your feathers to
jump once again launching yourself from the trees to
the embrace of the Xel-Ha Cenotes returning once more
to the realm of the rainbow coloured parrot fish.
The Mo Flight is located in the Aventura Cenote nearby
the Ixchel Goddess Grotto. The magnificent green of
the trees emerge with you and make you feel part of
the jungle. The rope is 8 meters long and it is tied
to a great Chicozapote tree, a tree which bears a delicious
Mexican fruit.
The only thing left is for you to decide to jump or
prefer to witness the courageous ones. It will be a
jump to remember and is an activity you would not want
to miss, as we have described it as an explosive celebration
of joy that even Tarzan was not able to enjoy!
THE LEGEND OF MO THE GUARDIAN
The gods named wise guardians of skies, land and waters.
On the eighth day of creation the gods replied; "Let
trees have their own guardians!". Birds came in
astonishing variety and the most dazzling, colorful
one,"Mo" the guacamaya, was named "GUARDIAN
ANGEL OF THE SKIES". Out of the 89 species of birds
found in Xel-Ha the Guacamaya was the chosen one. This
enchanting friendly bird abounds in the Yucatan Peninsula.

Childrens Play Ground -

is not a factor in Xel-Ha. There is fun for everyone
at the park. Children of all ages that visit us will
find a safe place to run, play and have fun. Babies
will have the opportunity to experience the true magic
of Xel-Ha in a special pool just for them allowing them
to enjoy the freshness of the Riviera Maya.
Toddlers will also have the opportunity of learning
what Xel-Ha is all about; water. As they have fun in
a special designated aquatic area to play and splash
around.
This magnificent natural playground in paradise has
many slides, swings, handrails and tries to keep children
active and entertained at all times.
In this area they will also have the opportunity to
learn about, meet and interact with our animal friends:
Mo, Kay-OP and Huh, a Macaw, a Parrot Fish and an Iguana.
They are considered by the Mayan Legends to be the Guardians
of Xel-Ha. And by interacting with our guardians, children
will get a taste of the Mayan world and its relationship
to nature.
Children will also be able to explore the park and
learn by living the adventure of walking through the
mangroves and discovering the importance of nature by
having fun.
Older children will have the opportunity of enjoying
all of Xel-Ha's activities, including: snorkelling,
sea trek, snuba, dolphin programs and bike riding.
Our Environmental Department regularly organizes tours
for School Groups so the children can learn and have
fun with the environment that surrounds them.

The Courage Cliff - Xel-Ha
Riviera Maya
 Thrill-seekers,
this one is for you!
The Cliff of Courage is one of the park’s most
extreme activities, located next to the river’s
bridge it stands alone, a 5 metre jump to the river
below. The excitement begins once the adventurer reaches
the edge and stares into the sandy bottom of the clear
blue river; the river at this point has 4 meters in
depth and is apt for diving. For the courageous the
cliff seems to be no match so they fly only to encounter
the cool water.
Once in the water you can choose to return to the top
and test your wits by climbing the five meter wall or
you can return by the road that surrounds the river
near Station 4. It is truly a formidable experience
as you reach the top of the cliff and the water beneath
you starts to reel you in to an unforgettable jump.
The clarity of the water also reveals the multi coloured
fish that inhabit the river, making the cliff an excellent
spot in which to relax and observe the daring jumpers,
or just calmly stare into the river to discover the
untamed beauty that lies beneath. Remember that in the
depth of the river awaits the exotic guardian Kay-OP
the parrot fish so try and keep your eyes open to spot
this guardian of the sea as you jump into an explosion
of fun.

Xel-Ha Riviera Maya - River
 The
Xel-Ha River is fed by a labyrinth of tiny, underground
fresh-water springs, and flows gently through the mangroves
as it approaches the Bay of Caprices making possible
the existence of a variety of aquatic species. To follow
the course of the river either snorkelling or just drifting
on an inner tube relaxing under the sun is an experience
you can't miss. The experience begins as you approach
the river, either by foot, bicycle or the parks' train
ride.
Once there, you have the chance of renting your snorkelling
equipment and are ready to walk down the path, adorned
by mangroves and jump in to the cool water under the
shade. From then on you make your way through the river,
observing the magnificent mangrove roots and fish that
have made their home in the labyrinth of roots.
As you make your way along the river you begin to see
and feel the union of fresh and salt water as you approach
the bay. Here, once again you are greeted by the Surgeon,
French Angel and Parrot fish which share their environment
with the incoming snorkelers.
Relax as you glide through the water of our crystalline
river into the Bay of Caprices and watch as the ray
shows you the way to the haven of a myriad of colourful
fish and a living museum of fossilized corals.
At Xel-Ha we are concerned for the well being of all
our visitors and their entertainment, so for the inexperienced
swimmers we offer the rental of safety vests so that
they too can enjoy the experience of drifting down a
river which becomes the sea.

Xel-Ha Riviera Maya - Rope
Crossing
 Have
fun and taste your balance above the blue waters of
Xel-Há.
The Rope Crossing consists of walking between two ropes,
separated by 5 feet from each other, hanging over the
crystal clear waters of Xel-Há. If you choose
to take the challenge you will have to walk more than
54 yards without falling.
To accomplish the objective of this amusing activity
you will need all your skill; and the load of adrenaline
is such that even those balance experts will not want
to miss it.
