Chichen Itza, Light & Sound

Chichen Itza is approximetely 100 miles west of Cancun and 70 miles east of Merida,

This Outing will take All Day.

Brits in Cancun offer you this Spectacular trip to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, the Kukulcan Pyramid. Probably the most famous site in Mexico. Although excavations have been going on at this most famous Mayan site for over 100 years now, archaeologists can still only speculate about what happened here and why.

Chichen ItzaArchaeologists from all over the world consider the Mayan civilization to be the most advanced for its time, and they are credited with the invention of the number zero, one of the most innovative inventions for the mathematical world.
The architectonic buildings of the Chichen Itza complex cover a surface of 15 kms. The most outstanding is the temple of the God, Kukulcan, a monumental pyramid featuring four ornamental facades of beautiful relief carved figures. At this building during the equinox of March and September you can observe a natural phenomena when at sundown the shadows and light form the body of an enormous snake or the “Feathered Serpent” descending the stairs of the majestic pyramid.

Chichen ItzaThe Temple of the Warriors, The Observatory, The Sacred Cenote (water well) where countless victims were sacrificed to ancient gods, and the Ball Game with acoustics so great one can hear a whisper at the opposite end, are just a few of the amazing structures of this ancient Mayan Site.
With complimentary pick up for all passengers at their hotel lobby, the deluxe motor coach departs for Chichen Itza at 08:15hrs sharp. En route you will go thru the quaint town of Valladolid to admire the ancient colonial city and its cathedral. A courtesy stop will be made at the Kaua Artesian Centre, and at about 12:00hrs you will arrive at Chichen Itza

Chichen ItzaThe Mayaland Hotel, surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens, will be your host and home base for the day. After a delicious lunch buffet (drinks not included) you will go directly to the archaeological site with your bilingual tour guide. There we will enjoy a detailed visit of the most important sites, lasting for about 1 hour and 30 minutes. After the guided visit there will be free time to take some pictures, or to return to the Hotel to refresh and relax in any of the swimming pools or enjoy the special 2 for 1 drinks offered at the hotel bars.

Chichen ItzaAt 18:30hrs you will meet back up with your guide to return to the ruins for the spectacular light and sound show which begins at 19:00hr. Once this show has finished you will depart at 20:30hrs for the return to Cancun. You will arrive back at approximately 23:45hrs

THE LIGHT and SOUND SHOW is only available on a Wednesday, but the full day tour is available every day, arriving back in Cancun at approximately 18:00hrs
